It was the fifth round of a mixed martial arts fight that by many accounts was even, and the stakes were high. Anthony Pettis was challenging World Extreme Cagefighting lightweight champion Benson Henderson, and up for grabs was not just the WEC belt but also a promised shot at the UFC championship. With the WEC dissolving after Thursday night’s card in Glendale, Ariz., this was the 23-year-old’s shot at the big time, and Pettis went for it. Did he ever!
