The Jets? Unsportsmanlike? Now There's Some Shocking NewsWhen you’re reeling like the New York Jets are, you’re happy to be playing at home with the 12th man on your side. In Sunday’s game against the Dolphins, however, the extra help was provided not by fans in the stands at the new Meadowlands Stadium but by a coach along the sideline.

Miami gunner Nolan Carroll was covering a punt in the third quarter when, after being blocked across the sideline, he was intentionally tripped by J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. Talk about hard knocks.

This was a big moment for the Jets, who like to boast about their defense. They now own the greatest defensive play ever made on the wrong side of the sideline, surpassing even the legendary work of Ohio State coach Woody Hayes, who at least didn’t impose his unsportsmanlike presence upon the game until after the whistle:
