Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue:Nazi Edition

genevieve morton 200x300 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue:Nazi EditionGenevieve Morton is certain to become an icon to masturbating skin-heads from coast to coast thanks to a Sports Illustrated swimsuit photo of her posing with multiple Swastikas.

Haaretz.com reports the photos won’t appear in the print edition of the Swimsuit Issue, but they do appear on the SI website. Haaretz has been following the SI Swimsuit Issue closely because former Swimsuit Issue cover girl and Israeli super-model Bar Refaeli will be gracing the pages once again.

When did Swastikas become acceptable, much less sexy? Technically, the plane Morton is leaning on is an American fighter plane, and the Swastikas represent confirmed kills. But there is no way to know that just by looking at the image. She truly looks like a Nazi fetishist’s dream S&M Fraulein.

Sports Illustrated has some questions to answer.

Bar Refaeli

The silver lining is that the SI photo makes Morton look like she has man-feet.

Good catch…I had a good run without publishing a blatant typo like that. Thanks.

You’re kidding, right? “…the Swastikas represent confirmed kills. But there is no way to know that just by looking at the image.” If you can look at the side of a fighter plane, see those symbols, and NOT know what they are, then you need to get a little bit of education.

And then … “She truly looks like a Nazi fetishist’s dream S&M Fraulein.” You’re not a little bit ashamed of painting her with that brush, especially since she’s wearing a fairly conservative swimsuit in the picture and nothing even remotely resembling Nazi or S&M gear? Geez, I guess you were desperate to get the hits on your website up. Too bad you haven’t got a remote idea of journalistic integrity.

  • Mason Lerner

Ed, if you keep wasting time posting on random blogs you don’t agree with, you will miss your next Klan meeting. Isn’t that what you guys do there anyway? I think it is fair to say that the laymen cannot look at that photo and immediately register “allied plane/swastikas represent confirmed kills.” You need a reality check if you think otherwise.
“She truly looks like a Nazi fetishist’s dream S&M Fraulein.”
I stand by this statement. She does.
By the way, this is a blog. This is my opinion. Blogs express opinions. Having a different opinion then some yahoo poster is not a reflection of my integrity on any level. If you don’t know that, perhaps you need a bit of education.
Hurry along to your meeting now. Lots of good masturbating under the hood and robes at this one, I have a feeling.

  • Robert

I have to side mostly with Mason on this one. When I first saw the picture it looked to me like she was gently stroking the Swastikas in a slightly demure and sexual way (why is she stroking the confirmed german kills anyway? that’s creepy all by itself), it didn’t even register that she was standing on a plane wing. I honestly thought she was on some old German piece of equipment, until the cockpit was pointed out to me.

This picture could have been shot better, maybe revealing more of the American pilot’s name, instead of just the small section with the flags. The rest of the photos of her on the same plane are very sexy, but starting out with that one was an odd choice.

  • Mason Lerner

Exactly. 1,000,000 internet points to Robert.

SPORTSCHAT with Mason Learner – Idiot Edition. You’re a perfect example of what’s wrong with most of our media today. You don’t have any historical perspective prior to cellphones. Beautiful woman in a swimsuit using a P-47 from WWII as a background. In other pictures the aircraft was a P-40. Many pilots of that era had what was called “nose art” [no, not "nose candy," something you're probably more familiar with] and often it was a beautiful, scantily clad woman. Probably a reminder of what they were fighting for. But all you can see is that she is fondling a swastika? And by the way, they were labeled with the type of aircraft shot down! ME-109, FW-190. Well, many brave men died to preserve your freedom of speech, so go ahead and enjoy it. But please try not to abuse it by looking like an idiot. Oh, and that was such a clever comeback to Ed, painting him as a Ku Klux Klan member. I can’t wait to see how you try to depict me for daring to disagree with you.

  • Mason Lerner

    Lee,
I respect your opinion. Don’t worry about me trying to depict you as a jackass or anything like that. In my opinion, you do a stellar job of that on your own.
Do you really think people look at SI swimsuit pictorials for the historical subtext?
Show me a link to a pic of an American woman from that era posing in front of swastika.
Also, I think I speak for many Jewish people when I say sexualizing the swastika is inherently offensive at this point in history. If you don’t find it offensive, that is your right. But a lot of people do. And denying their feelings on the issue is a reflection of you, not me.

  • Fred Reutz

Come on! That first paragraph led me to believe she tattooed swastikas all over her body which in turn had to be airbrushed from the photos. Why so agitated?
