2012 Action Flicks With Kick-Ass ChicksCelebrating the trailers that promise female-centric action movies

In 2010, we were treated to a few movies with women as action heroes (Kick-Ass, Sucker Punch, I Spit on Your Grave) which were met with varying degrees of success. In 2011, that niche stayed carved with the release of the critically acclaimed Hanna, the less-lauded Columbiana, and the upcoming and almost surefire smash that will be David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Next year, it looks like we’ll be getting an even bigger dose of films with ladies taking names front-and-center–hopefully indicating a growing trend that’s here to stay.
