Judith Light, who plays Vince Lombardi’s wife Marie in “Lombardi,” a play that is now on Broadway, was not a football fan before she took on the role. To prepare, she read “Football for Dummies.”
Now she is a fan, rooting, of course, for The Green Bay Packers, Vince’s team, to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLV.
“Lombardi” is advertising its matinee as ending before the Super Bowl begins. They will not be offering a Sunday night performance.
Light has special insight into the game for women, having researched the life of Marie Lombardi.
“Marie said: ‘I like boys. Boys like football. I like football.’”
