We have created a New York Theater Club as part of the membership drive for The Faster Times. What does this mean?
It means for $28 a year — about 53 cents a week — you get two gifts (a choice of a tote bag, cinch sack, Digidude — I have no idea what these are, but they have pictures of them) and membership in the member-driven New York Theater Club. The club will feature at least one activity a month decided upon by the members (which can include group discounts at shows, private chats with people from current shows, a tour of a member’s place of theatrical employment, a group conversation online — whatever we can make happen.)
Most important, you will be supporting the work of independent journalism — not just my coverage of New York theater, but all the work of the writer’s collective at The Faster Times.
So click here to sign up.
(There are better gifts if you give more money, such as a year’s subscription to The New Yorker Magazine, and you can pay less money for Faster Times membership, though you’ll get fewer gifts. Here are all the different options.)
As a member of the New York Theater Club, you will also be a member of The Faster Times, which means you’ll be invited to the parties they give, always in the hippest joints, sometimes also the loudest and most out-of-the-way. The next one is Thursday, May 27th, from 8 to 10 p.m. A Literary/Journalism Networking Night – Come Have Drinks with New York’s Top Writers, Editors, Agents. It will be held at The Libertine Library.
