Nicholas Kristof has just tweeted about the violence erupting in Bahrain. Here are his most recent comments,

At the moment Kristof is unsure if the army is using live ammo or rubber bullets. Al Jazerra says their corespondent, Even Hill has reported the use of live ammunition. Reports earlier today said that violence had stopped but that the situation was hovering on the edge. This morning protesters buried those killed by yesterdays government crackdown.
