Dawn of the Lesbro or: I'm not Afraid to Admit I Fucking Love Joanna Newsom

I’ve been drunk enough to have one of those conversations like “if I had to pick one group of people I like the most in this world I’d pick…” and, contrary to popular wisdom, I didn’t pick my own people, the Jews. Instead, I picked lesbians.

Two key points to note are:

1. Lesbians like women. I also like women.

2. I have a few good lesbian friends, and they are the only people I can be my true self around, and finally admit my love for Joanna Newsom.

So..I like lesbians. Not in the “watching them do what they do” sorta way, but in a “thanks for being like me, complimenting me on my style, telling me I’m not fat, telling me if a girl is hot, and liking Joanna Newsom.”

With all that said, I’m sure lesbians and people of every other shape and color that like Joanna Newsom were pleased as punch upon hearing the new song, “81″, unveiled today at the Drag City website. I know that while I listened to it, I thought to myself “I’m not afraid anymore! I love lesbians, and I love Joanna Newsom!”
