I let you know last week that two bombs had been detonated in front of chain businesses in the Mexican capital in the span of a week. Well, it happened again early Wednesday, Independence Day. So far, however, the only outlets reporting the incidents in English have been us and the official Chinese news agency, Xinhua.
Here’s their report. Xinhua erroneously says the Wednesday attack hit in the borough of Venustiano Carranza, but El Universal places it at a bank branch in Centro. The Chinese outlet also mentions a fourth attack reported on Monday at the Max Mara boutique in swanky Polanco. That bombing checks out at La Jornada.
Yup, that makes four bombings since the start of the month. No one’s been injured, thank goodness, as the attacks have all taken place in the dead of night. Still, it’s … curious. Are these incidents connected? Who’s responsible? Who knows.
