TFT Top 25

LSU – The Tigers beat the then #3 Oregon Ducks without QB Jordan Jefferson or WR Russell Shephard. You have to respect a ball club that can defeat a primetime BCS team while missing key veterans. The Tigers are prepared for danger!

Oklahoma – The Sooners look great! They dominated a very strong Tulsa offense and put up major numbers passing and running. Right now they look like a definite BSC championship contender but they do face some serious tests later on in the season.

Stanford – The Stanford Cardinal have last years offensive coordinator David Shaw as their new head coach so little will change in the aggressive Cardinal offense. They also returned the Nations #1 quarterback, Andrew Luck. They look to once again be a National Championship contender.

Alabama – The Crimson Tide boasts the best defense in college football and they have dynamic running back Trent Richardson. Need I say anymore?

Wisconsin – Former NC State quarterback Russell Wilson only makes the front-runner to win the Big Ten even better. The Badgers didn’t lose much but gained a lot in the off-season. They are walking into a fistfight with Oregon State at home this Saturday.

Boise State – The Bronco’s started their season out with a convincing victory over the University of Georgia. Stunning an SEC powerhouse will surely keep the sea of Boise State critics quiet. They lost key players at wide receiver but QB Kellen Moore has not had a problem in adjusting and putting his early bid in for a Heisman trophy.

Texas A&M- The Aggies cut through SMU like a hot knife through butter. They have a bi-week before playing Idaho at home. They need all the time they can get to deal with all of the SEC drama going around.

Florida State- Coach Jimbo Fisher has his hands full. The Seminoles’ 2011 schedule includes seven opponents who made bowl appearances in 2010. Quarterback EJ Manuel is ready for a big season after an off-season that included being trained by Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning.

South Carolina – Despite a serious inconsistency in QB Stephen Garcia’s play we have to admit that when he’s on fire he’s on fire. The Gamecocks also have the fastest runningback in college football in Marcus Lattimore(4.2 flat in the 40 yard dash)

Auburn – The Associated Press dropped the defending National Champion Tigers from the top 25 but lest we forget that Utah State is a quality program and Auburn scored 14 points in 2 minutes with a new quarterback to win. The Tigers face major conference rival this weekend in Mississippi State.

Virginia Tech – New quarterback Logan Thomas seems to have no problem stepping into Tyrod Taylors shoes and new running back David Wilson looks like an early Heisman hopeful. If the Hokies can stay healthy sky is the limit.

Michigan State – an impressive victory against YSU keeps the Spartans in the top 25.They will likely get another big win at FAU this weekend but the Big Ten tests are soon to come.

Arkansas – The Razorbacks have talent at every position but will have to make it through the gauntlet that is the SEC.

Oregon – The Ducks started their season off with a loss but it was to a worthy opponent and it was a close game. We need to see more games to make a sudden decision to drop them from the Top 25.

Nebraska – The Huskers are an early contender to win the Big Ten. They returned speedy quarterback Taylor Martinez to lead their triple option package but will still have to get past the rugged competition that dwells in the Big Ten. Some consider the competition to be easier than the Big 12 but only time will tell.

South Florida-The score between USF and Notre Dame wasn’t as close as it looked. The Bulls dominated the Fighting Irish behind a defense that would bend but not break and the brilliant play of quarterback BJ Daniels. Nobody gave Skip Holtz’s Bulls much of a chance but they still came out and shocked everybody in South Bend.

Syracuse – The Orangemen scored a major victory at home against Wake Forest. This was their first home win against BCS competition since 2009 and a great momentum builder for a team that still lives in the shadows of the Donovan Mcnabb era.

BYU – BYU faces a major test against a young Texas Longhorns team this week. Quarterback Jake Heaps will have to have another strong day passing to get a victory for the Cougars and maintain their TFT Top 25 ranking.

Penn State – Coach Paterno has already said that they coached this years Nittany Lion team better than last year and that there has been a great deal of improvement. They face a huge test against the University of Alabama this weekend at home.

Baylor – The Bears looked incredible against TCU and earned their way onto our Top 25. We have to see how they perform later in the season but right now they look to be a darkhorse in the unstable Big 12.

West Virginia – The Mountaineers have a pretty solid schedule this year and big quarterback Geno Smith should have a really strong season. They start the season out pretty soft but will have a major test when they line up against the ugly uniforms of the Maryland Terps.

USC – The Trogans can’t go to a bowl game and they lost scholarships due NCAA infractions committed in the Reggie Bush days. Despite it all, the Trogans are playing with a chip on their should behind the arm of third year starter Matt Barkley. Without a chance of a glamorous Rose Bowl appearance USC still plays like it’s all on the line.

Michigan – This is a season full of hope for the Wolverine faithful. They have one of the most dynamic football players in college football but they are also returning one of the worst defenses minus All American Lb Jonas Mouton.

Arizona State – With a quarterback standing at 6’8(Brock Osweiler Jr.) the Sun Devils won’t have trouble seeing over the line to make their passes. The big question is how will they show up against the University of Missouri this weekend.

Ohio State – We know that the Buckeyes only beat Akron, but it was an impressive showing considering their off-season drama, suspensions, and untested starters. It looks like OSU has already made the proper adjustments to contend for the Big Ten crown.
