Food, Inc.—one of the scariest movies of the year?

Food, Inc., which Manohla Dargis, in today’s Times calls “one of the the scariest movies of the year” opens today in New York City. I previewed a few clips of the film, in which sustainable food movement gurus Michael Pollan, Eric Schlosser (a co-producer), and “grass” farmer Joel Salatin appear as talking heads, at Slow Food Nation last fall in San Francisco and remember being unsurprised at what I saw. (Those of you steeped in Pollan’s and Schlosser’s ouevres will no doubt react the same way.)  Nonetheless, I’m eager to see the final version of the film and will undoubtedly post my reactions here. Meanwhile, here’s the trailer to whet your, a-hem, appetite.
