Wow, three Thanksgiving games and only one that has any real gutsy appeal, Broncos vs. Giants. And wouldn’t you know it that the NFL network has it hogged for themselves. Well, as we head into the home stretch for fantasy season, here are my recommendations for this week.
Start ‘Em!
Aaron Rodgers: The offensive line seems to have gotten the hand on protecting Rodgers. This Thanksgiving, He’ll be giving thanks for that and facing Detroit’s #32 ranked pass defense.
Vince Young: He’s never going to be a classic drop back passer, but he seems to have righted his own personal ship and he’s faces a leaky Arizona pass defense. Plus he’s good for some rushing yards to sweeten the pot most weeks. .He can thank Chris Johnson for giving the Cardinals defenders worried more about him than Young scrambling.
Matt Hasselbeck: He faces divisional rival St. Louis with their # 24 ranked pass defense.
LaDainian Tomlinson: The Chargers seem reborn and now he faces KC’s #27 rush defense
Ricky Williams: He’s playing Buffalo. They’re the #31 rush defense and they’ve given up 15 TDs on the ground.
Thomas Jones: The Jets clearly need to run heavily to take the burden off of Sanchez. Thankfully Carolina is the #26 rush defense.
Greg Jennings: The Lions have given up .24 TDs via the air.
Percy Harvin: Chicago’s given up 18 TDs to the pass this year. Just saying.
Mike Sim-Walker: The Niners are the #30 ranked pass defense and he’s the Jags dominant receiver.
Calvin Johnson: The Packers just lost Al Harris and Aaron Kampman. Johnson has been stepping in recent weeks and without Kampman applying pressure, Woodson can’t cover him forever.
Brandon Pettigrew: Did I mention that the Packers defense is banged up? Oh, and they’ve given up 20 TDs to the pass this year.
Kellen Winslow: Let’s just say that Atlanta’s pass defense leaves a lot to be desired.
Sit ‘Em!
Tony Romo: Sit him again. The Raiders have only given up 8 passing TDs this year. Oh, and their cornerbacks are pretty good.
Matt Schaub: I think he’ll get some yards, but the Indy pass defense, even with youth at the corners, has only given up 7 TDs passing this year.
Donovan McNabb: The problem in Washington hasn’t been the defense. They’ve only given up 10 passing TDs all year.
Ray Rice: The Steelers are they #1 rush defense and have given up only 2 TDs rushing all year. Now, he may get some receiving yards, but not on the ground.
Matt Forte: Minnesota’s the #3 rush defense and given up only 3 TDs all year to runners. Like Rice, he may get some receiving yards, but probably not much else.
Kevin Smith: The Packers have actually had a pretty decent rush defense, ranked #4 and only 3 TDs allowed. Like Rice and Forte, he may do some damage receiving, but he’s not going to run wild.
DeSean Jackson: I think the redskins do everything possible to take him out of the game and force Maclin and Avant to beat them.
Steve (Carolina) Smith: Revis may have had problems with Randy Moss last week. He won’t have as many with Smith.
Steve (NYG) Smith: Denver has lost too many in a row, like the Giants before last week. He’s the Giants most consistent threat. Whether it’s Bailey or Goodman, he’s getting covered.
Marques Colston: The emergence of Shockey this season and the streak Meachem has been on seems to bode ill for Colston.
Brent Celek: Like I said, the ‘Skins have only given up 10 TDs all year and the Eagles will probably need to keep him in some anyway to help out with Orakpo.
Jason Witten: I’m just tired of waiting for him to produce. And I don’t think it’s going to happen against the pass stingy Raiders defense.
