The Anne Hathaway-Jake Gyllenhaal Sex Scene and Other Fame Updates

In the upcoming film Love and Other Drugs, Anne Hathaway plays an ailing woman who sleeps with a Viagra salesman played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Hathaway found the sex scenes incredibly wearing, and said that “I had to lean so much more heavily on everyone than I’m used to. I’m used to pulling my own weight. But I totally fell apart.” In fact, the actress tells Vogue she “cried every single day” of filming. We here in the real world are crying to know that two such attractive people did not enjoy one another’s, ahem, company more thoroughly. [Nerve]

Other attractive people are sleeping together, it appears, but the outcome is no better. Taylor Swift’s new song, “Dear John,” seems to indicate – surprise! – that John Mayer, 32, is a bad idea. Swift, 19, who is known for writing songs directly from relationships, has said of her newest single “Every single song is like a roadmap to what that relationship stood for, with little markers that maybe everyone won’t know, but there are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints..” She was first seen canoodling with Mayer last February, In Touch magazine reported, and sources claimed that she spent the night in his hotel room. Most of us do have to learn at some point how unpleasant it is to spend the night on the John. Meanwhile, Kristin Stewart of Twilight will be playing a teenage runaway who becomes a stripper in the film Welcome to the Rileys, out November 5. In an effort to understand her character, Stewart went with the film crew to a strip club in New Orleans, where they were filming, “and I was straight-up offered a job,” the actress reports. Speaking of rappers and ill-chosen releases, Kanye West has had his new album, Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, banned from Wal-Mart because of the graphic cover art, which is a painting of a white woman with wings and no arms mounting a black man holding a bottle. Kanye tweets: “”In all honesty…I really don’t be thinking about Walmart when I make my music or album covers #kanyeshrug! I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of my true creativity.” [Nerve]
