Singer found dead, cause of death “unexplained”

Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her London apartment, police have confirmed. She was 27.

According to police reports, the London Ambulance Service was called to Winehouse’s apartment, “following reports of a woman found deceased.”

“On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene,” the report continues. “Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.”

The singer had a long history of battling drugs and alcohol and had recently cancelled her European tour after videos surfaced that showed her stumbling and slurring through a concert in Belgrade, Serbia.
